Currently, there are 7831 families on the Low Income Public Housing Waiting List. Please note that the waiting list is a list of families that have completed a pre-application indicating that they are interested in participating in the program.  Waiting list applicants have not yet been screened for income or other program eligibility.

When vacancies occur, the Housing Authority must fill the vacancy with a family that has the right number of household members to match the vacant unit.  (For example, if a three bedroom LIPH unit has become available, only families with 3 – 7 household members would be potentially suitable for that unit.)  The Housing Authority will process applications of appropriately sized families for each vacancy in the order received. Therefore, there will be differences in the waiting time depending on the size of the unit your family is waiting for, and depending on how many LIPH units of that size exist within the County.  The table below shows the total number of LIPH units of each size within the County of Santa Cruz.

5 Bedroom units: 1

If you are already on the waiting list, please understand that your wait for assistance may be long.  We cannot predict when your name will reach the top of the Waiting List, as it depends on when current program participants leave the program, the size of units that become available, and the household size of applicants approaching the top of the Waiting List.  It is typical for families to wait years for housing assistance.

Estadísticas Sobre La Lista de Espera - Actualizado el 28 de junio de 2011

Actualmente hay 7774 (Nota: esta información es actualizada cada tercer mes) familias en la Lista de Espera para el Programa de Viviendas Públicas de Bajos Ingresos (LIPH).  La Autoridad de Viviendas procesara aplicaciones en el orden en que fueron recibidas. 

Cuando se producen vacantes, la Autoridad de Viviendas debe llenar la vacante con una familia que tiene el número correcto de los miembros del hogar para que coincida con la unidad que esta vacante. (Por ejemplo, si una unidad de tres dormitorios esta disponible, sólo las familias con 3 a 7 miembros del hogar serían potencialmente adecuadas para esa unidad.) La Autoridad de Viviendas procesará las solicitudes de familias de tamaños adecuado para cada vacante en el orden recibido. Por lo tanto, habrá diferencias en el tiempo de espera en función del tamaño de la unidad de que su familia está esperando, y dependiendo de cuántas viviendas LIPH existen de ese tamaño dentro del condado. La tabla a continuación muestra el número total de unidades LIPH de cada tamaño dentro del Condado de Santa Cruz.

Si usted ya esta en la lista de espera por favor entienda que la espera para recibir ayuda puede ser larga.  No podemos precedir cuándo su nombre llegará al tope de la lista de espera, ya que depende de cuando los participantes actuales del programa dejen el programa, el tamaño de las unidades que estan disponible y el tamaño del hogar de los solicitantes que estan cerca del tope de la lista de espera. Es típico para las familias esperar años antes de recibir asistencia de vivienda.
