Free Housing Discrimination Forum

You’re invited to a special event during Affordable Housing Month called the “Housing Discrimination Forum,” hosted by the Housing Authority of the County of Santa Cruz in partnership with CRLA and Senior Legal Services.

Date: Wednesday, May 8, 2024
Time: 5-6:30 PM
Location: Community Foundation | 7807 Soquel Dr, Aptos, CA 95003

You are protected from housing discrimination, but how do you assert your rights? Where can you turn when that Craigslist ad says no Section 8? What if you’re quoted a higher rent than someone else for the same unit? Why didn’t the realtor show you that apartment? California law protects your right to housing and protects you from illegal discrimination. This is a free presentation and panel discussion about your right to be free from housing discrimination regardless of your actual or perceived gender, disability, immigration status, color, race, national origin, sexual orientation, and other protected classes. Come learn your rights, where you can get help and what you can do if your rights are violated!

Complimentary refreshments and food will be provided. And translation services will be available for all that may need assistance.

This is your chance to understand your rights and learn where to get help if you face discrimination based on gender, disability, immigration status, race, and more.

RSVP by Friday, May 3 by clicking here.

We hope to see you there!

Hora: 5-6:30 PM
Lugar: Fundación Comunitaria | 7807 Soquel Dr, Aptos, CA 95003
